One
Heart, One Desire
Bro. JAMES
TIOCO
When the Lord
led him to Makati Gospel Church,
he willingly involve himself in various ministry. He became a member of the young professional group and eventually had the
opportunity to lead them. In 1996, he started handling a Sunday school class. Here, worship was taken into new heights by
incorporating new songs and modern music. He then took a bold step of sharing the gospel to others by helping organize an
English Worship Service during Sundays. Less than a year after it started; it now has 154 attendees from a class of 20 people.
One more thing
admirable about Bro. James is that he honors God through his business. His business started small. There were pressures of
deceit and bribery, they were presented to him as an easy way for success and expansion. Yet during those times, he held his
ground. He maintained his integrity and good testimony as a Christian. He made sure that no compromises were done in his business.
There were ups and downs experienced, but through faith and prayer, he claimed and held on to God’s promise in Eph.
3:20 that “God is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within
us.”
God opened
doors for him-- his business grew, opportunities for small group bible studies opened and small cell groups were formed in
work. Also, the gospel was spread and shared even to aspirant employees. The Sowers of the Word was formed as an entity for
the ministry that he started in the work place. Furthermore, more revenues and resources were gained in his business. There
were also more ministries and projects raised up through the blessings the Lord given him.
With regards to his family,
God blessed him with a beautiful wife, name Didi from General
Santos City and a lovely daughter
named Daphine. He is a loving husband and father. Though he is a very busy, his family is still a priority. If schedules are
needed to be cancelled, he will do it for their sake. In addition, he is also faithful in having his family honor God in opportunities
given to them. An example of this is their involvement as main characters in a church play entitled “Precious”
by Dr. Andrew Liuson. |
All things seem to fall into place according to God’s plan and grace, Bro. James
said “Leaders may come and go, leaders may rise and fall, but faithful leaders will obtain success in the end”.
It is his desire to pursue God’s will in his life, to the point that he is willing to study in a seminary if God leads
him to do so. His heart’s one desire is to be found faithful until the end.
